This year I decided to change up my Christmas decor and add in a more modern farmhouse feel. I’m really loving how it looks! My tree was the biggest change. And honestly, I redecorated it like three times….! It wasn’t feeling right, so I kept tweaking things until it felt good 😉 It took me most of the day to decorate the house, and my poor husband kept asking, “It doesn’t usually take you this long to decorate, does it?” Haha!

Farmhouse Christmas Tree Ideas
I knew that I wanted to keep things simple. I’ve been feeling too cluttered lately, and I recently finished cleaning out my whole entire house. Whoa. I know. But it feels great. For me, when I think of “modern farmhouse”, I think of simple, clean lines, coziness and fresh greens. That’s what I really wanted to do this year with my Christmas decor. Buffalo Plaid Christmas
I may have mentioned a time or two that I LOVE buffalo plaid right now. I wanted to use it on my tree, and ended up doing black and white buffalo check ribbon. I wasn’t quite feeling the red for my Christmas tree.
I wanted to add some texture, so decided to DIY a simple, white pom pom garland. It’s super easy to do. You can check that out here.
That’s all that I did. This is the most simple Christmas tree that I’ve ever done, but I love how it turned out! I also added a collar for our tree this year. That was another super easy DIY that I’m loving. You can check that out here!

I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season!
