I love having a fireplace in our house! I know not everyone wants one, but I’ve always dreamed of having one in my home. BUT, when we moved in, our fireplace was a disaster. (The before pictures are pretty hideous-take a look here!) Now it’s a fun place to add holiday and seasonal decor (like for fall..!).

How to decorate a fireplace mantel for fall
There are lot’s of ways to take your fall decor, but I tend to go for a simple, rustic look when I decorate for this season. So this year, I created a farmhouse fall mantel! Less is more when you’re decorating your mantel–there’s not much room to work with, so be careful that you don’t over clutter!
Fall Fireplace Decor
I’m in love with this sign! I love the phrase; and the piece itself has a simple look with a farmhouse feel, which I thought would be the perfect decor option! I knew that I wanted to incorporate pumpkins in this fall mantel, and these mini one’s fit perfectly!
We have 3 huge trees in our backyard (which is a blessing and a curse….raking leaves is just the worst!) so I went and found a couple of long sticks that I could layer on the mantle…truly rustic if I do say so myself 😉 I have to admit that I’m kind of obsessed with cotton stems, so I added those as well! (I’ve got a DIY cotton wreath in the works, so stay tuned!)
What do you think? It doesn’t get much simpler than that. Another tip to keep in mind when styling your fireplace mantel is to layer. Remember, space is limited so use it wisely!
What ideas do you have for your fall mantel decor?
