Large Wall Decor Ideas
DIY Large Frames
We made these gorgeous large frames out of plywood and 1 x 1s! We simply painted the plywood and nailed on the frame. These feature some of Sam’s original work, but you could get creative with what you do with yours-even some of your own original, contemporary art 😉

Wallpaper
Try framing some wallpaper! You could also use a really large section of wallpaper, but instead of spending tons of money on a large frame, make one from trim molding!


Use a Sharpie
Another great way to DIY a large piece of art–paint a large piece of wood and then use a sharpie paint pen to make circles. Doesn’t get any easier than that! Check it out here!


DIY
I LOVE this eucalyptus branch! It looks gorgeous over her couch and covers a huge amount of wall space!

Recipe
I love this idea of recreating a favorite family recipe into a large wall hanging! Stylish and sentamental!

Peg Board
I love these oversized, DIY peg boards! What a fresh, stylish way to add interest to your large walls.

Engineered Print
Did you know that you can do large, engineer prints at Staples for suuuuuper cheap? There are so many different things you can print, like a large family picture or a favorite quote. I love how she did a favorite sheet of music! Great idea.

Canvas
Canvas can be expensive, but if you can get some for a good price, its very easy to paint a simple design. I absolutely love how this one turned out! Or, you might even be able to find some at a thrift store, like the one below! She even teaches you how to repair dented canvas!

Gallery Wall
How can I leave out the gallery wall? It’s truly one of my favorite things. In fact, if you’re looking for more great stuff on gallery walls, check out everything you’ve ever wanted to know about gallery walls!

Plate Wall
Plate walls are a twist to the traditional gallery wall, and I love them!

Large Chalk Board
I really like this idea for building a huge chalk board! You can lean it against a wall, or hang it. Plus, you could change it up for different seasons and holidays!

Mirrors
Mirrors are another great idea for your large walls. They DIYed this gorgeous leaning mirror. You could hang it, or find smaller ones and create a fun gallery wall with them. Plus, using mirrors adds lots of depth and makes your room look larger!

I love these ideas, you can also use the scraps of wallpaper you have to make cool wall decor projects. I used a removable wallpaper about a yard long two dowels at the top and bottom, rope and nail to make a nice little banner in the bathroom.

Hi Abby! Ikea has pretty good prices on mirrors–especially on the bigger ones. Lately, I’ve been pretty impressed with what Walmart has, actually! Other that those, I would try Hobby Lobby (especially with their coupons and sales!), Amazon and Overstock. I hope that helps!!
