Its a brand new year my friends!
I love that feeling of starting fresh and new beginnings! I get re-energized and feel like I can tackle anything–like all those things on my never-ending lists of things I need to do 😉
One thing that seems to never leave my to-do list is “pick up the house” or “go through that stack of papers on the counter”–does that sound familiar to anyone else?? It seems as if there is stuff everywhere! All I want is a clutter free home!
This is what my house usually looks like…
The kids’ playroom is downstairs, but toys always seem to creep up to our family room! (Does that happen to you?!) And we can’t forget the stacks of mail and random papers that seem to mysteriously pile up!
Sigh. I understand and have accepted the fact that this is life…! Two little kiddos can leave quite the wake! I just can’t spend my days constantly chasing after them cleaning up–what’s the point, haha! And though I try to take care of the mail and random papers right away, let’s be honest…it doesn’t always happen.
How can we ever have a clutter free home??
One word: baskets. Its the best and easiest way I’ve found to keep the clutter under control. Plus, they can add style and interest into your room! Yay!
Much better. Not that it stays this way for long!
The constant stack of papers…
It seems never-ending and it’s probably my biggest pet peeve! My kitchen is totally clean, but it LOOKS cluttered. (Also just ignore the lovely phone jack on the wall…we’re a work in progress, haha!)
I found this basket at a thrift store and loved it. I keep it right on my counter for the all mail and loose papers that I need to go through. And now I can breathe because my kitchen doesn’t feel cluttered anymore!
Baskets are my best friend! Books, shoes, toys, blankets, and all those little random things that don’t have a home yet-the basket does the trick to keeping my home clutter free!
(PS, does anyone else have cups all over their counters?! Haaaaate that!)
What do you do keep your house looking clutter free? I’d love to hear your ideas and give them a try! (I need all the help I can get 😉 )
