5 Ways to Decorate On a Budget
1. Shop your home
This is usually my first step. Look around your home and see if you can repurpose furniture, or if you have some accessories that you can use in a different place or for a different purpose. Use books as decor accents, recover old throw pillows, switch up your lamp shades. The options are endless!
2. Change (or add) hardware
I love doing this! It’s amazing how much impact updating the hardware in your home can have! (Or adding it if there isn’t any already!) We had old, brown handles on our kitchen cupboards and I switched them out for updated pulls–they look SO much better!! You could even spray paint your hardware to give it a fresh look.
And speaking of paint…
3. Paint
Never underestimate the power of a fresh coat of paint! Paint old chairs, dressers, cupboards, mantle or even a wall. This is a super affordable way get a big update!
4. DIY Art
Art can be verrrrry expensive. So, try saving some money by creating your own pieces! I have some great ideas for wreaths that you can make yourself! If you don’t feel very creative, use Pinterest to get some ideas and try them out! I’m always on the lookout for great DIY projects, you can check out my board here!
5. Shop Thrift Stores
I love shopping at thrift stores and seeing what treasures I can find! Sometimes you can score with great pieces that are perfect just the way they are, and sometimes you might need to get a little creative with what you find!
