Hey friends!  Today I want to share with you three ways that you can decorate like a designer!  It can sometimes seem overwhelming to look at pictures of perfectly styled homes and rooms and think, “I could never make my home look like that.”  Well, I’m here to let you in on a little secret….you can!

1. Layer

There’s not much that you can’t layer: rugs, textiles, pillows, books, pictures, just to name a few!  Layering accessories adds dimension, texture and interest.

2. Use trays

I love trays!  Trays are great for giving purpose and grounding to a group of accessories you might have on an end table, as a center piece, or a on counter or coffee table.  If you have a grouping of accessories that doesn’t look quite right, try adding a tray underneath and see what happens!

3. Add greenery or flowers

I dare you to find a picture of any room in a magazine that doesn’t have a plant or flowers in it!  (Even fake ones count!!)  Using plants and flowers adds a sense of freshness and life into any room.  And did I mention color?!

These are three simple things designers do that make a big impact on any room!  Tonight as you’re scrolling through Pinterest (you know you will be 😉 ) keep a look out for rooms that have layered accessories, trays and plants in each room, and you’ll be amazed!

Is there a room in your house that you can decorate like a designer by adding in these elements?  Give it a stab and I bet you’ll love the results!
